ProQuest Adds Four More Years to Full-Text Coverage of The New York Times
Additional years added to current ASCII full-text file; ProQuest® users to have easy access to coverage from 1995 to present Divided line

ANN ARBOR, Mich., September 27, 2004 - ProQuest Information and Learning announced the expansion of its full-text coverage of The New York Times, which will provide four additional years of Times content to users of the Web-based ProQuest® online information system. ProQuest Information and Learning, a unit of ProQuest Company, creates and publishes databases for libraries and educational institutions worldwide.

The expanded coverage provides users with access to the current full-text file of The New York Times from 1995 to present (with daily updates), offering nearly twice the amount of coverage as other information providers.

The New York Times is one of the most highly used resources for research on all topics by readers at all levels.  We are delighted to offer our customers even more of this valuable content,” said Rod Gauvin, senior vice president of publishing, ProQuest Information and Learning.  “To provide greater value, ProQuest applies world-class indexing performed by expert, US-based indexers, which greatly enhances the search experience and allows users to retrieve accurate results very easily.”

The additional content is now available.  ProQuest makes The New York Times content available in a standalone subscription or as part of a newspaper package incorporating other national newspaper titles and in customized packages that include a choice of national, regional, and local newspapers.

ProQuest also offers the complete digital backfile of The New York Times (1851–2001) in full-page image through its renowned ProQuest Historical NewspapersTM program.
